I think that's wise, waiting for insider action as a good signal in the coal stocks.

BTU looks the best of those that are way down but even they aren't all that attractive based on the deteriorating fundamentals. If I had to guess, we're still 6 months or more away from them picking up, as they will need the world's economies to gain in strength first before we see coal demand level out the declining prices.

Even with this backdrop, I think it's wise to watch them here for signs of life. I know the China numbers looked awful this week and that sent another signal to stay away from this sector. BTU was showing just a little bit of life before this latest hard plunge.

They could get a lot cheaper if we get the market to take another breather. It's a little surprising how strong the S+P has been over the past 2 weeks, especially with the geopolitical worries rising.
