(I saw the original around 9th grade or so and enjoyed it.) Then I saw MacFarlane was behind it, and I sighed and scratched that one off the family viewing list. (Well, actually, there is no family viewing list, because nowadays virtually nothing is suitable for viewing.) meh melindamoore • 3 hours ago What does the Inquisition have to do with teaching our kids about science?$100 says they ignore that a member of the Catholic Church, Msgr. Fr. Georges Lemaître, is responsible for coming up with the Big Big theory. Why bother to let facts get in the way of an agenda. Lakewood Ed • 20 hours ago I could not believe the time and effort spent in the episode castigating the Church. At the end of the program Tyson had no qualms speaking about his "god" Sagan. This kept popping into my mind every time he mentioned the "big bang": http://www.prageruniversity.co... Which big bang? NB_Liberallies Lakewood Ed • 19 hours ago The problem is, the attack is a huge lie based on revisionist history. Imagine that, atheists lying about history and then using their lie to attack Christianity. A simple search on his name and who he was shows he went through the inquisition and was burnt at the stake for his theological errors, not because he believed the Earth was the center of the solar system. Bruno Giordano left the Roman Catholic Faith and became a Calvinist. He was excommunicated by the Calvinists. He then became a Lutheran and was excomunicated by the Lutheran. He attempted to return to the Roman Catholic Church, but would not accept the conditions the Church laid out. He beleived God was merely a magician. He did not believe Chirst was a God. He believed the Holy Spirit is the soul of the world. He also believed satan would be saved. The guy was a bit out there on his theology, which is what lead to his trial in the Roman Inquisition. He then was handed over to the secular authorities and burnt at the stake for his theological errors, not because he agreed with Copernicus. So, as always, the atheists, the anti-religious, the anti-Catholics get history wrong and use their revised history to attack the Roman Catholic Church. Here is a good place to start on who Bruno Giordano was, http://www.newadvent.org/cathe...
