That's an answer that begs the question. If the NBA wasn't so highly represented by black players, other black people wouldn't see the NBA as "one of their only shots at making it." Not really. The fact they are represented at all is the draw. Same for football. Besides, why not baseball? In this country, baseball has become a rich man's sport. The ones that make it to the majors usually are the ones playing in "pay for play " leagues who travel and get the most exposure to the top notch players in the country. Blacks for the most part are not part of that infrastructure. This hasn't always been true. There used to be a much higher percentage of blacks in the majors until the 1980s and the rise of "pay for play" in that sport.
