Petz, re: Intel prices and sales mix

IMHO, the "evidence" you presented is no more than rumor:

Price Cuts:
"according to sources."; "The cuts could kick in as early as January 9, according to one PC vendor who requested anonymity." Petz, do you base your investment decisions on "according to sources" and "one PC vendor who requested anonymity"? Or would you prefer to believe Intel and Dell.

Sales mix:
It's a pretty big jump to assume that prices charged somehow implies sales mix. I repeat give me a GOOD source that has visibility to Intel's product mix.

There are a whole lot of people on this thread that are making claims about Intel's business that are counter to Intel's guidance. As with any subjective information, if it is repeated enough times, people start to take it as fact, although it is based on speculation based on very thin or non-existent evidence.

"BTW, this scoop by zdnet.com/uk has not been picked up by Dow Jones or Reuters", doesn't that tell you something?

Petz, in your haste to paint Intel as a failing company, you and others fail to remain objective and weigh your sources of information.

Intel very well could have price and mix problems, but at this point there is no good evidence that this is true.

John
