The mafia is, surprisingly, not thinking. All they need to do is start a media blitz, with pictures, saying that the Malaysian jet finally just crashed in NYC, assemble pics of 12 unshaven Iranians and 4 Russians, rally the public around the flag and get another war or two going. After all wars are the source of mafia profit. Chaos is the perfect provider.
