But the crime rate was dropping before buying guns became a craze. Gun violence peaked in 1993 and has been dropping ever since. When Obama was elected and the gun buying craze started, gun violence still dropped but at a sharply lower rate. Your logic would suggest the opposite would be true.

So here we have a great study. Your premise seems to be flawed.
