Dear Sowbug: That wish of NSCP is like telling GM they can't make and sell their own engines for use in their cars. This is absurd. Why doesn't NSCP buy out AAPL and combine the 2 software elements and put some real money into developing the new Active Desktop. Certainly there is nothing magically wonderful about the Windows over DOS system. Actually the file system of the MAC is a lot easier to work with and is better in about every other way except for the slight ahem problem of market penetration and 3rd party support. The only thing MSFT has going for it is the market and they deserve it because that is what they went for first in the case of the OS and the web. You know NSCP was telling everyone that the new paradigm would be the active web based desktop and they were right - their only mistake was assuming that they would own it! JF Dowd
