<For years the Japanese have been trying to stimulate growth in their economy. They have been printing money for a long time. In fact about a year ago interest rates at the banks were negative (a very rare event). The population just continued to save and buy American Treasuries.>

Exactly...and now were picking up the pace a bit (to say the least)...1% per day... They Yen will continue to collapse is the point. Read into that what you will. We seemed to have more than a little "angst" when others countries devalued...I think its a huge deal. Time will tell.

Jack, actually money supply growth in Japan had been very low
for quite a while. An earlier link gives the numbers.

Trouble with very recent money infusion is that its a
little late and maybe a few yen short. And problem with
banking transparency still exists. $400 billion in bad
banking debt is nothing to sneeze at either.

Good trading all.

Maybe they should eliminate the consumption tax they implemented earlier this year? Nah, that makes too much sense.
