Gottfried, thanks for your reply. Much appreciated.

I tried your keyboard shortcuts for copy and paste several times on a current website that I am having this issue with-------didn't work. Instead it pasted a prior website who's URL I had copied and pasted previously.

But then I closed out the website and went back to it (by clicking the link from an email I received that took me there originally). After going back to it this way, using your keyboard shortcuts worked successfully without a problem. Then oddly, I was able to copy and paste that URL using my old 'technique', right clicking, and the usual drop down menu appeared........

So now I have to try this whenever I come upon the next website where I have this problem.....it has happened several times in the past week, on different websites, and never happened before.

So Gottfried, what do you think is happening here? Why would this inability to copy URLs from occasional websites just suddenly occur, with no problems on the majority of websites?

Thanks.

Hi Gottfried......What might be alternative browsers to Chrome? I have tried Safari and found it unimpressive.

Second question: Is any browser less vulnerable to spy ware than other browser?

Third....I also use Ubuntu (12.1?).....I like it but it has some minor technical problems that I'm working on.

I'm not a techi....and do not intend to reinvent the wheel.....when there so many knowledgeable people here on SI that I question.

Thanks
