Can DSL break the 'Year of' curse?

By John Dodge
12.08.97

Depending on your point of view, our front page this week is either
blessed or cursed with stories about promising new technologies (see
our DSL story). Blessed if you really think they will mean anything and
cursed if you count on them and they don't live up to expectations.

The most solid potential for innovation is suggested by the story that
asks if 1998 will be the year of ADSL (asymmetric digital subscriber
line), a very promising technology.
