Recently, a coworker was obviously uncomfortable with a software testing approach I was willing to consider so I asked : "What is the evidentiary requirement that you'd feel comfortable with using this proposed approach?" The answer was "No. <Some statement>" I pointed out that "No" was not really a possible answer to the question. My boss standing nearby (a PhD formally trained in logic) laughed but the person persisted with why they said "No."

A clearly stated question pertaining to "how much" cannot logically be answered with "No..<anything>". If it is answered this way, we are not in the territory of logic but feeling. BTW, this person believes in God and was upset that their 10 year old son questioned the existence of a deity. The two issues are related in my opinion, for better or worse. My coworker might be right that we shouldn't allow this approach, but it won't because they reasoned it out... at best, they intuited it.
