Jay and Intel Investors - Intel is Supplying the CPU for NOKIA's new PCS GSM cell phones/Communicator.

The doom and gloom can be overbearing, so let me point out some HIGHLIGHTS for Intel (which seem to be RARE these days):

Nokia's 9000i Communicator debuts in California

The Nokia Group's flagship wireless communicator, the 9000i, was launched on Thursday by Pacific Bell in California. Pacific Bell Mobile Services, in Pleasanton, Calif., will provide the necessary GSM (Global System for Mobile) digital network for consumers using the communicator, and will sell it through company stores, its direct sales channel, and through retailers. The unit will retail for $999. The 9000I Communicator -- which is already sold in Europe, Asia (but not Japan), and some markets in the United States and other parts of North America -- combines voice, fax, e-mail, paging, and computer and Internet connectivity. The device has a small operating system
supplied by the Nokia Group, as well as a variety of business and personal software. The unit also accommodates specialized software, some still in development, such as medical messaging, sales force automation, and meteorological information, said Megan Matthews of Nokia Group.
Nokia says the unit provides up to 3.5 hours of talk, fax, or data time and up to 33 hours of standby time. Memory is non-volatile. The Nokia Group, in Irving, Texas, can be reached at nokia.com.

Seems to me Hong Kong has recovered nicely. Only down .37% as per Yahoo. Subject to change without notice,-- as in now up .15%, five minutes later!
