What peaceful solution? Putin's operation Crimea is finished,
he just annexed it. If the Ukranians don't like it, they may start
a war with Russia, or not, if they don't want war. I don't think
they can have the Crimea back diplomatically in any shape or form.

I think the peaceful solution involves FU, from Putin to Ukraine.
The Ukranians will likely eat it, because of the referendum. I would
say Putin played smart, whatever his intentions were.
