Octe, I shorted HWP last week and he kicked out on my stop the day he ran to $68. I had a stop at $66.128. But never to late to short again. Yes, he is again below his 150 day moving average again. CPQ broke today. I have been waiting for AA to go south and he finaly did again today. I shorted FDX today when he broke. JBIL, BAY, MOT, NOK.A, PCH, SNDK, CAT are stocks I have shorted in the last couple of weeks. I have been short MU and TXN for a while. MU could go to $5 or so here..that should be the worst case. What I am going to do tonight is go through each one of the DOW stocks to look for some more shorts. I have been thinking we could get a little rally here for some more shorting, but if asia keeps on causing problems we may not see very many christmas buyers out there.<ggg> I have mixed feelings about IBM and MSFT. The IBM share holders are in love with this stock and CEO and will not give up easily, even with the games that have been played. I feel the same about MSFT. The DOW stocks are safe..should not be bought out at a premium. I am watching the autos..during economic downturns these guys are good shorts with lots of profit. No one buys cars.<ggg>

BTW, I am not going to short consumer durables or pharmaceuticals. The fund managers will use these stocks for shelter.

Joan

Ocote, some more.

I will short Dell and CPQ but I want them to stay below the 150 day moving average before I short. These two guys will not give up easly. There will be a lot of dipsters. ML is touting CPQ and will make sure they get their institutional players out before they let go.BTW, CPQ was Merrills focus stock of the year and will hold it up as long as possible. I am also watchinmg CSCO. IP is one stock that I can not figure out..should still be a good short. i.e. still has some room between where it is and 0.<ggg>
