Echoes of the famous trial in Tennessee in 1925 of John T. Scopes, a high-school biology teacher, accused of violating a new state law outlawing the teaching of evolution. Despite a spirited defense by Clarence Darrow, Scopes lost. (His conviction was later thrown out on a technicality.) But evolution would find its way into classrooms and textbooks. Instead of debating whether science belonged in public schools the question became whether religion did.

Funny how this worked out, evolution & science wins out,has taken firm hold, teaches the value of life, equality, expanded world view and we're off into the future that is become today, steady on course.

And after the 1rst World War, followd on by a second devastating World territorial conflicts, leading into the Cold War, Korea, Vietnam, Arab Israeli conflict, hijackings, and full on terrorism, not just by left-wing communists but ultra right wing Military junta/death squads.

Makes you just want to decipher & discern more, examine all evidence with a fresh critical eye and ask the question, are we learning yet?
