TJ, this is a trick not to give more reasons for Russia to invade Ukraine a 76 million interest payment is much less than an all out war.

In the meantime see what the Russian Muslim citizens claim in the Gaza Strip even if it sounds like a joke it is not.

There are much more Russian Muslim citizens in Syria and if indeed Syria will get even more support from Russia (to defend its Russian speaking citizens there!! which I estimate to be much more than the 50K in Gaza) for this or other reason and more specifically the Russian naval base in Tartus Syria there start to be a very serious problem as it will endanger the new NG fields of Cyprus and Israel which is a BIG TORN in Gasprom dominance within EU energy supply plans.

There is another issue now that will be creeping up and the Ukrainians can act smartly if they have the brains. Romania is an EU member and there is a dispute about who owns the "Snake Island" 30 KM east of Sulina a Romanian town on the Danuba Delta. The actual border was near Vylkove or Prymors'ke small settlement of Lipovani who accepted Romanian citizenship and not recognized by the Russian Orthodox church of about 8,000 stolen by Stalin after WWII.

"Until 1948, Snake Island was considered part of the Romanian coastal city of Sulina. In 1948, the Soviets forced the Romanian side (occupied by Soviet troops) to accept the "transfer" of Snake Island to the Soviet Union, as well as to accept to move the Romanian border in the Danube Delta towards the west, in favour of the USSR (resulting in the annexation of Limba Island by the USSR). Romania has strongly disputed the validity of this "treaty", since it was never ratified by any of the two countries, which would make the Limba Island and Snake Island de jure Romanian territory."

Exxons assumes there are huge deposit between this Island and Crimea. If Ukraine will cede the Island to Romania there will be some real fireworks in the Black Sea more so that about 150 KM (90 miles) down there is a Naval base of NATO in Constantza which until now was just a token of presence

A ground-breaking ceremony takes place at Deveselu military base in Romania for a facility that will host missile interceptors as part of a planned NATO missile shield, a project that has irked Russia.
