could be a lot more crying ahead

comrade obama must decide whether to de-camp afghanistan, do anything about pakistan, forget iran, never-mind iraq, still-born syria, lose libya, give up nigeria, humour france, abandon saudi arabia, ignore israel, pivot to asia, take on china, shield japan, answer to korea(s), destabilise taiwan, set up in africa, set-up latin america, or ... cry over ukraine and tee-up russia.

whereas herr putin presumably only needs to focus on one thing, all close to home, with one whip hand holding a gas spigot connecting to europe, and the other a nuclear toy swinging over all; leaving left and right booted steps free to do as he pleases when and where he wishes, here, there, everywhere.

such same revelations on russian politicians would matter far less, and may even boost their political fortunes
