And how many people understand string theory? About 5?

About that. I did say that we don't understand much about it...

Always had an interest. When I was 12, I got a copy of Red Giants and White Dwarfs by Robert Jastrow for Christmas. It has just been published and my mom saw and interview on Johnny Carson and thought I might like it.

I did.

Lived for over a decade in Bryan, Texas. About 3 miles from the Texas A&M campus. Being close to a world class university can have some benefits. Like going to lectures by people like Stephen Hawking. Who was a mentor for the guy heading the A&M physics department. Hawking isn't a fan of string theory, BTW. Or having dinner with Frans de Waal. Or Temple Grandin.
