CHL @$45.6 - blast from the past. Business is growing in the mid single digits., but shares are almost back where they were 4 years ago. Decent 4.5% dividend yield and 1/3 of the market cap is (stranded) cash.

Make no mistake, this is an utility run by the Chinese government, but it is reasonably well managed. The Chinese government sees this vehicle to improve the Chinese telecommunications and keep them affordable, so I can think this Limits the profitability, but the Government can’t push too hard, or it would bankrupt CHL two much smaller competitors. My guess is that CHL will continue to churn out single digit growth rates and maybe one day something with their cash. the latter is more like a free option.
