It wasn't the poor that broke the bank, but welfare to the rich.

Bush doubled the deficit from 5 to 10 trillion and it all went to the rich.

All the gains made since 2008 went to the rich.

We sure could have lifted a lot of people out of poverty for 5 trillion dollars.

Is it a coincidence the countries with the largest governments like Denmark are also the best ones?

We need 21st century social engineering and that can only be done effectively at the federal level e.g. free pre school should be done at the federal level to make sure everyone gets it. same with modern green energy and infrastructure and universal health care.

All of that will require a large government.

Why do you continue to believe that billionaires should not have to carry their share of the costs of civilization

The taxes required should be extracted from the obscene income of those who are incapable of spending what they have acquired, if they were shoveling cash with a shovel 24/7
