<<As President Barack Obama was celebrating his inauguration at various balls, top Republican lawmakers and strategists were conjuring up ways to submarine his presidency at a private dinner in Washington. The event -- which provides a telling revelation for how quickly the post-election climate soured -- serves as the prologue of Robert Draper's much-discussed and heavily-reported new book, "Do Not Ask What Good We Do: Inside the U.S. House of Representatives." >>

That was predictable and why he should have held his army. He had a mighty army. One not seen since FDR.

There is a story in history of a great general (famous, but can't remember him) who dealt a tremendous blow to Rome by allowing his generals to operate independently. After that blow he let his men rest before going on to Rome.

During that delay, Rome figured out his tactic reorganized their army and pushed him back a few days later when he did attack and then they chased him all over Europe until they trapped and killed him at the boot tip of Italy.

We all missed a window of opportunity by not making a full frontal attack on day one! I am dead sure I am seeing that correctly.
