Joe,

Thanks for the news.

What do you think about AMD calls at this point?

I don't know! I just received PCWorld Jan98 issue. On page 228, it said:

"Even a big-name company like IBM is using alternative CPUs - look for upcoming review of the IBM K6 based Aptiva models. (IBM is manufacturing its own CPUs based on AMD's K6 specification.)"

This report means that IBM is exercising their rights on K6 and fabricating K6 at IBM ME without the needs to pay AMD for these K6. Another rumor said that AMD offered Compaq K6-233 at cost (might below $100) to get Compaq orders.

If both held true, AMD could not get any profits from these two tier 1 accounts at all. I just wonder how AMD could pay their bills for FAB25 and the establishing fab in Germany in the next two years?

Last time, AMD fell below its bookvalue. Could it happen again?

I have tried the lastest Asus SP97-V (using SIS5598 chipset) to run MX at 83x2. It runs flawlessly. Not as fast as TXPro (Ali Alladin IV+), but, SP97-V could cache 64MB+ RAM.
