Yeah, I remember I'd gotten a telescope the Christmas before sputnik, and my dad and I went out to look for it. We had a guide from the Chicago Tribune on how to spot it.

We found it, and it was kind of freaky. Looking at that satellite over our heads, and thinking a nuclear bomb could be next. We couldn't do what the Soviets had done at the time.
