On a day like this there are gaps-o-plenty -- including about 48 island types on a 1500 database scan setup. Saucers and mushrooms everywhere you turn. And MEH looks to be moving against the grain for at least a few more days.

Some of the classic "static" patterns sometime seem more subjective to me than the weight of evidence provided by ones favorite "fluid" dynamic indicators. If I had to choose I'd probably vote with Dahl, SRSI, MACD, DMI, etc. Before the advent of charting software these patterns were about the only game around. Imagine running 100's of nightly calcs on exotic linear regression formulas, et.al. just to plot one day in your album of favorite stock charts. Yeah, the gaps and islands sure help cut down on the number crunching, but I don't know if they carry any more weight in the long haul than the combined actions of all the other indicators. Interesting to consider tho and I'm still watching them closely.
