>>The latest prices on Zip media, after rebate, comes down to $9 a disk. $9 vs. $8+losing you drive.<<

I hold in front of me the latest Mac Connection catalog.

page 49.

Zip disc single $19.95
Zip 10-pack $129.95 ($13 per)
Zip Color Pack $149.95 ($15 per)

BTW, the obscenely priced Jaz2 ($740 for external) should prove to be an absolute failure in the marketplace. Who in their right mind would buy an overpriced joke like that when there are several options that are better? SyJet, SparQ, M/O drives, CD-ReWrite are all direct competitors. SparQ is priced at $199 with $35 media. SYjet has 1.5 Gigs and is selling "3 Gigs for $300." These two products alone destroy Jaz2. MO and CD offer similar savings and their own unique advantages over Jaz2.

And where is all the hoopla around the arrival of the laptop Zip? Is it because of its equally obscene price of $300 that we have yet to hear the hossannahs from the Iomaniacs? $300 is insane for an outdated technology such as the 100MB Zip drive. Please.
