The two extremes!

Everywhere I go, everything I read, and every business show I see on CNBC, and CNN people are talking about a big bear coming in next year eating all the high tech stocks! And these are the same people who up to 5 months ago were saying the big bull will be guarding the high techs from any bear that dares to eat them alive!

So assuming all the investment talking heads/analysts/con-artists are correct, one (at least I) can only conclude that the only way to make money (at the present time) is to short all the high techs and go 180 degree the opposite! But then if I come to this conclusion so have all the big talking heads, have they not?! But is this what they are doing? Who are the people selling? Are they honest the god share holders fearing from losing their materialistic values/gains, or just people who are simply selling the shares they do not own! And who are the people buying? and why are they buying? How are valuations determined?!

It sure is very interesting! Regardless of what investment philosophy each one of us follows (whether bullish or bearish) one thing is for certain: When extreme is reached it is absolutely impossible to prevent the 180 degree turn! Whether logical or illogical, it is in human nature to always over react (both in terms of being over-optimistic - such as myself sometimes - or so over-pessimistic such as so many that I hear from everywhere I turn)! But then I guess that is how life is. Without the optimist, pessimist can not exist, and without the pessimist the optimist can not possibly make sense! Like a dime coin, the tail has absoltely no meaning without the head! Or as it is said: Happiness can not logically make sense and exist unless there is sadness! For now fear is the driving force, but soon greed will overcome! I for one to the best of my capability (financially) am going to take advantage of the fear to gain from the greed later!
