You'll note that longNshort refused to reply to that post, the idea of being an "enemy of god" is absolutely following along the same lines as "enemy of the people/state". Of course its no mystery why apologists are quick to make the charge that atheism was the cause of such crimes against humanity. These are exactly the same atrocities they themselves commited and must furiously scaramble to distance themselves & hide from the historical evidence of their own insanity. (and brumar is certifiably insane, greg is a certifiable imbecile, longNshort is just braindead on life support) That communism itself is structured the same as religion with its utopian dream & priests which are the party leaders & afterlife as represented in the eternal state, all men judged & rewarded with equal reward as to their deeds & work. This follows on exactly as you'd expect, the template is perfectly the same as religion. It wasn't because of atheism these atrocities were commited, any view of history as Darwin would predict has been rife with the same with God or without. Brummys argument that if it weren't for Christianity, none of the blessings of the western world would emanate, the bulk of that cultural & technological enterprise was already in place, existent from that earlier great culture/civilization back to the Greek & Roman world. Its not till the Renaissance that the great institutions & university systems are inaugurated, after that rediscovery of the pagan classics & freedom to explore was reinitiated.
