So, you didn't really comprehend the effect of dumping a huge amount of oil right in the middle of spawning grounds at the peak of the spawn. That is pretty clear. Not only that, but millions of gallons of dispersant was pumped into it, much of it deep in the water column, which has never been done before.

Again, you seem to be assuming that it was dispersed evenly through out the Gulf. Which, obviously, was not the case. The Gulf, like any oceanic body, is not equally productive through out its volume. Beyond the continental shelf, there isn't a whole lot going on. And on the continental shelf, the shallower the water the more productive it is.

Bottom line. You may have an opinion. But you have almost none of the information that is needed to realistically assess the situation.
