Well you know what they say, you snooze you lose. Remember when Micron took...

everyone by surprise and moved to smaller lines with their DRAM chips? This type of press release should have been the clue that Micron wanted more profit...

VELDHOVEN, The Netherlands, July 10, 1997 -- Semiconductor memory chip
producer Micron Technology has placed an order for more than $150 million with ASM Lithography (ASML), the world's fastest growing supplier of microlithography systems used in semiconductor manufacturing, that includes ASML's most advanced deep UV and i-line steppers. Installation of the systems is scheduled to begin in the fourth quarter at Micron's wafer fabs in Boise, Idaho where they will be used in volume manufacturing of advanced 16 Mbit and 64 Mbit
dynamic random access memory (DRAM) chips.
