What else do they have? The GOP has bought into uniformly unpopular positions The only voters they have that are motivated to vote are the members of the base ..and that group is dying out The rest of the country is socializing rapidly in spite of their well funded efforts at resistance And the party of socialization is the Democrat party As in non-racist, pro civil rights/gay rights, pro ACA/single payer, pro women, pro immigration reform, pro Hispanic, anti NRA, pro decriminalization of marijuana, anti war Who is left to vote for the clowns The tragedy is their only source of broad support stems from marshaling the latent racism that lurks just beneath the surface of an embarrassingly large segment of the population ...and after that albatross of latent racism goes with the departure of the incumbent, the GOP will simply wither
