McCain was considered weak on the economic side, and Romney could have helped with that. I think it is quite a stretch to say that Palin didn't alienate many down the middle.

If your claim is that I argued that, then you didn't read my post well. She certainly did alienate more than a few. Lost quite a few of the so-called independent votes. I'm only arguing that her presence on the ticket meant that tea party types voted rather than stayed home. I haven't seen any calibration of gain and loss on this point. Have you?

It's always good to hear that I'm "correct." As for a "capable and centrist" female, he had Kay Hutchison more than eager for the job. She would, no doubt, not have lost the independent votes Palin did. But there is no doubt a lot of Tea Party types would have stayed home.

LMAO... like he helped himself?

"Let GM and Detroit go bankrupt
"Corporations are people my friend
"47% of the voters are moochers
"Sorry I cannot show you my tax returns, because I'm an economic expert
"you see, if people live on social security and don't pay taxes they are "moochers"
"If I can avoid paying taxes on MILLIONS that just makes me an "entrepreneur"

Neo lib, both are nuts. And worse both are really selfish men. Neither cares one bit about the health and welfare of our nation.

Not one tiny bit.

They are both insensitive plutocrats. And nuts!
