Zhivago is my all time #1 favorite movie. I first saw it as a teenager and Julie Christie was my heart throb. Rod Steiger plays a great role, I like the scene where he talks about being "high minded" . I always remember the last lines of the movie, which if you listen closely were dubbed because the back track is discontinuous. zhivavo's brother asks zhivavo's daughter if she can play the balalaika , her boy friend answers " can she play, she's an artist" . You never really know if she is zhivavo's child or not , but that answer seals the deal. You never really see zhivavo playing the balalaika but the movie opens with him as a young child inheriting the instrument from his dead mother.
