Phoenicians, Canaanites, and Hebrews all used the same language and alphabet. The Greeks learned to write from the Phoenicians and copied their alphabet from them. (Aleph became alpha, beth became beta, daleth became delta, gamel (which btw means camel disproving the atheist meme that camels were unknown in the ME at the time) became gamma.) Greek religion even copied the Phoenician's pagan gods. The Phoenician trio of El, Mat, and Yam became Zeus, Poseidon and Hades. Other Greek gods and goddesses were copies of Phoenician ones as well. All gods rejected by the Hebrew prophets of course.

( Needless to say, with this kind of power the Hebrews had no need of mastery of the sailing arts till much later & remained landlocked/camel dependent!)" And their medical prowess remained at the level of casting out devils by magical incantations! Obviously, one could not see the cause of sickness, so the demons were necessarily invisible just as Yahweh was invisible unless you met with him privately! Ahem!
