That law was passed by a democratically elected congress and the supreme court said it was legal.

And the Supreme Court also decided that Bush won the election fair and square.....

First and foremost, does that mean you think it is fine if political leaders like Harry Reid pay off Democrats to get them to vote a particular way? Payoffs like the "Cornhusker Kickback" and the "Louisiana Purchase"? Do you really think political payola is part of a "democratic process?" I think it is god damned crooked.

But, no, that is not what happened. In particular, the SCt did NOT say "it is legal." What the SCt said is, "It isn't ILLEGAL as a result of the particular issues that are currently before the Court."

There are numerous major challenges to come. One of which (the Origination Clause case) clearly OUGHT to result in the entire law discarded. Because the Constitution is very clear: Revenue legislation has to be originate in the House. And this bill did NOT, by any reasonable interpretation, begin in the House.

I think it is outrageous that so many Democrats are okay with how this legislation was enacted. It obviously should be illegal to do what they did. Yet, you and many others -- many out of absolute ignorance, most out of ideological commitment (and some, both), not only accept it but embrace it. I find it pathetic.

>> There is no system better than democracy that mankind knows of.

There was a time when political corruption was looked down on in this country. Today, liberals have embraced it. Yes, it is true, corruption is found in every corner of the earth. But there was a time when Americans had too much pride in their country to allow it (you remember when the Republicans supported getting rid of Nixon?) No more. Democrats will never support getting rid of their own guy.

Barack Obama could murder the Joe Biden and you would still support him.
