Evolution does not benefit the individual, it's benefits (if present) are to the species or even to the environment. Any fringe idea about the primacy of individualism is counter productive in the long term.

And what about "affluenza" disease? Is that a new plague sent to kill off the new Pharoah's immoral children? ( those original Egyptian children harmed no one, were innocent, such an amoral God)

Is it God or Nature that describes the human animal to want more, want to hoard, always his reach excedes his grasp?

Drive a big brand new Dodge RAM pickup down there in Wooly Bully Affluenza land, brummy?

Fundamentally in this short existence & life span of a human being , there are leaders & followers, those that are intrinsically life affirming & essentially lovers of their fellows & life itself. Then there are the demonizers, which has nothing to do with belief in deities, spirits or being an atheist...that would be you brummy. With all that you differentiate by positing a "God", all men are the same in reality on terra firma, what was of value in any scripture itself revovled around basic philosophy & common sense.

One hearkens back to Shakespearean England where the Catholic persecutions were being carried out, if you were caught even harboring a priest the various tortures were many, sentences ranged from being pressed to death or drawn & quartered, and this was just merry 'ol England. And yet they all believed in one "God the Father" and all loving Christ, let the demonizing begin.

(and one never got caught poaching on another man's land, especially if it belonged to the king & crown)

The big problem for superstitious people is that they have no basis for a code of ethics. They are basically tied to a few primitive ideas jotted down by savage individuals without the benefit of Science and Reason. These people lived at a time when slavery, rape, and genocide were all very acceptable practices, so a modern theist is basically left on their own to sort out a moral code which (if it is to have any value) must systematically ignore most of the really really BAD ideas in their book of fireside tales and sins.
