I read something about these guys in PCWeek and I think it was a case of too early with too costly products and oh well. This is important for the following reasons: a glut of Java tools is emerging and BORL is certainly not taking the world by storm with its offering. BORL is not going to be a dominant force in the general tools market and will have to compete with Sybase, Microsoft in the enterprise. Let's put it this way, if an ORCL buyout were not a strong possibility then BORL would be off the radar screen in terms of an investment: small niche player with tremendous competition.
