The court said last week that it expected to make a decision by December 15 of before it went into Christmas recess. A decision should be reached this week but it will not be released until the court returns from Christmas recess, according to a court official, who declined to comment further. The court, which returns from Christmas recess on January 13, is deciding whether to hear Crystallex's claims to the Las Cristinas gold mine. The court is also expected to rule on whether to hear the company's claims to copper deposits at the mine. A Supreme Court justice on July 15 refused to hear Crystallex's claims to the gold deposits, but agreed to hear the copper claims.
