Don't know how many of you follow QCOM...but we seem to have a real story developing here. This is a beautiful company with a head of steam and solid earnings streaming in...but it is being slaughtered in recent weeks. Down from a high of 72 only a few weeks ago, the stock is again down 3 points today to 56...and on VERY large volume. In addition, it seems a lot of Option players are jumping on the puts here. Somoene just a few minutes ago (7:08 PST) plunked down $95,000 on 100 QCOM April 1998 60 Puts (QAQPL) at 9 1/2. I think an announcement has to be around the corner here...the volume is just too high on the downside for this to be a normal selloff!!! Muizz

Hi Lisa Can't find anything on CPQ... Just got a fax on KLIC... Morgan Stanley downgraded it to outperform...Korea still looks extreamly bad...and might get worse...However they lowered their 98 # to 1.95, I think its too high at the moment.. Their new est are for each Q in 98 as follows....16c-41c-65c-72c... I think the 3rd & 4th Q are still up in the air... In general Jay Deahna thinks other co's doing semis biz in Korea will be hurt dramatically in the short term, and IF the country does not get settled soon the fall out will dramatic... Everyone think of any and ALL co's doing major biz there, and avoid or sell short or what ever...Korean Co's can not get any money re: loans...I talked about this a month ago, its identically the same thig that happened here in 88-89 thru 91 recession on a lot worse... they feel Korea is temporarily OUT OF BUISNESS..... I think additional fallout is on the way, not BAIL OUTS!!! Anyway I'm going out and buy my wifey a nice Xmas present<ggg> Louis Vitton handbag, nothing is too good for her :>}...od course I'll have to borrow the money from Nemer<gggg>.... Adios Senorita Zena
