Broader Market Decline Weighs On E&P Shares Despite Modest Gaines By Both Crude Oil
and Natural Gas Prices
13 April 2014 ¦ 18 pages ir.citi.com

Our market-weighted E&P index (-1.2%) continued to fall last week but managed
to hold up better than the broader markets (S&P -2.7%) as both oil and natural
gas prices posted modest gains. U.S. economic data was mixed with U.S.
consumer confidence climbing to a nine-month high and weekly jobless claims
falling to a seven-year low. However, consumer credit rose above expectations
while the producer price index jumped more than anticipated, portending perhaps
some inflation ahead.
