I think everyone should reconcile their favorite religious book with modern day science and get into this century. When this topic comes up, my favorite Catholic priest loves to say, "God gave us all a brain. I suggest we all begin to use it."
I gave you a rec on your original post, but I disagree with your priest friend.......sorry.
