Hi Margaret; I hate to say it but with the negitive tone to the
TECH sector in general, I'v had to revise my opinion on BMC..
I do think she got punished more than she deserved but the market
is not going to care about that..it will take a long time for her
to get back up were she was, if I had it I'd sell on any rally.
Her books are in better shape than most Tech's but her main product
is in troble, the ASIN flu is going to be with us for a while..
I sure hope you didn't get hurt too bad.
There can not be a real rally in the Tech sector as long as big
giants like INTC, MSFT, or CSCO IBM are taking hits and sliding down,
they have such large market cap and are owned by so many funds
that when they go down they drag the this sector down, the
fund dumbs get caught, and have go into sell mode when their big holdings sink..untill you see the bigies rally any small companies may
have a bubble but it can't last. Every thing is so intertwined
with the mutual funds spread out across the sector, that smaller
cap stocks may take a while to fall, but fall they will if the
big boys continue to take hits.
I will post latter more about some mutual funds and what I see
happening like the Robertson Stephens fund RSIFX which has
mostly all Techs has had it's NAV drop from 16 in early OCT
to 11.5 yesterday and it's getting hammered again today..
that's a 28% loss from OCT..( these are the experts ) also
if things were to start up remember it will now have to go
up 39% to just get back were it was..things may turn around
but watch the big caps, as they can't turn if the big ones
keep falling.
I know that's not good news and I hate it, and also took
some heavy hits..I'm mostly in cash now, and looking to
re-enter when I see the Bigies start up ( in union )..not
just one or two up and the rest down..that's not a real rally.

Tug Boating has had it's great moments , but as you get older
the romance of it wears off, you come to see what all you missed
out on while being on the sea. I started young and in a way it
was an escape for me..I dealt with natures eliments better than
with mankinds, I have at times been to Sea for 3 months and never
read a news paper..it does give one a differn't look at things
( you really notice the changes when you come back in and look
around , some of them have shocked me too. )

Intel I'm nutural on for the time being, have been for some time
I wouldn't buy any Techs untill like I said above.
-----------------------------------
The WEBS show that there may be a rally Monday..in fact should be,
but how long it will last I have no idea, if it starts slow and
builds that will be a good sign, if it starts hard and fades
I'll see it as a bubble.

I live in OLD Town, south of Houston..by the Brazos River.
Thanks for looking at my page.
Did you see my favorete quotes ?

Do you have a sound card ?
Take care..and don't let me talk you into any selling of
BMC, she could pop up, But I'd likly try to get out on a bubble,
I almost bought some and would have but for seeing so many
take hits..it's going to be a long road back..
If I see a turn around I'll likly get in a no load TECH fund
at that time to get a broarder coverage..even in the turn;
when we get there, there are going to be a lot of bumbs, for
a while.
