People want to believe the government...

It would be good if that trust were warranted... as it perhaps used to be... back in the day when boy scouts took their oaths and meant them, and the government was run by boy scouts. But that isn't reality, today ?

People don't want to believe the FEW (although it is a rapidly expanding number of) problems you can see that you are FORCED to recognize... aren't contained by the institutional boundaries that define the events, but are instead systemic problems popping up where they do without the problems being isolated... and only serving as "canaries in the coal mine" in relation to the real scope and extent of the problems...

The IRS is using information they have, and the government power they have, to hurt people... but, you think that what we've seen exposed about the NSA... means that it ISN'T doing the same and similar things ? And, then... the NSA is not the only agency that is collecting information... and there is a reason they've connected the IRS as the enforcement branch for "health care reform"... that will give them forced access to our MEDICAL RECORDS?

Your doctor is now required to ask you questions about your sexual activity... to make that a part of the information in your medical records... that the government is forcing to be revealed to them... why, exactly ?

The FBI used to be law enforcement... but, were converted to "anti-terrorism"... meaning every government agency now has developed its own police, only without that meaning that the institutional constraints and legacy (or, quality) that (used to) apply to the FBI is operative in the "new" Federal agencies police forces ?

If the FBI were the boy scouts that were the cat to the government rats... they've been taken out of the game... to allow the rats to play... and build their own police forces.
