The point of language is to describe reality. Reality is made of causal relationships.

I suppose all languages have their limits in describing reality. I prefer equations that can be put to the test. For more than thirty years I have been using mathematics, physics and computer languages to model reality. I have never been able to BS equations or force software to bend physical laws. Either I understand the limits of my models, or I fail to provide a working solution to my employer. I have written a couple of pieces software that others have continued to use for 10 and 15 years, primarily because I properly understood the underlying equations and models.

No. Flash crashes are those stock variations which occur within a few seconds, and not those which happen over many months. I think you don’t want to accept what the word “flash” means. Your untested and unformulated theory doesn’t apply, but I may be persuaded.
