Rand Paul has several things against him that are sort of out of sight, but will come up in a presidential run:

1) Are his stances on other issues that are really nuts.

2) The RW war crowd will never go with him. And they are dominate.

3) The big money is going to go with Bush. They have made that clear.

Jebs comment on illegal immigration was such a clear brilliant tactical move, IMO. I think a lot of people overlooked how smart it was.

He changes course back to normal land. The RW went along with Reagan when he did it and they will go along with Jeb, albeit begrudgingly. But with this gambit he is giving signals to the big money he is going to run a "normal campaign". One which can win.

And he will stay on this course trying to pull the party with him in a winning direction. The big money plutocrats will see this and climb aboard. They know if he wins, he will open the treasury to them just as Reagan and the Bush's always have.

That is what the big money wants to see. The big money can tear Paul apart, but Jeb is like Reagan, Teflon.
