Call it a forest and the trees issue... in relation to the obviously still growing resistance to improper Federal assertions of authority. The Bundy Ranch Range War of 2014 is an obvious focal point... I've stated my opinion that, obviously still depending on how events transpire from here, it could well be seen as the incident defining the opening of the second American Revolution... in the way that Lexington and Concord defined the beginning of armed resistance in the first. I will propose now that the Bundy Ranch should be declared a National Historic site... to be operated in perpetuity as a cattle ranch... funded by the Dept of the Interior with a mandate to ensure its success... without disrupting any of Bundy's pre-existing rights. It is the LAST ranch left... and it should be preserved... while there is also no denying its historical significance as a cultural icon. That may be a culture that Sen Reid doesn't appreciate... but, then, we know he is a bigot... who dislikes those who assert they have freedom and will not surrender their rights nor submit to rule by authoritarian thugs. But, beyond that focal point... there has been a dizzying array of events in recent history that taken together constitute an obvious "rumble"... that is being ignored. I'm talking about Texas Gov. Rick Perry talking openly of secession... of the many secession movements ongoing now within a number of states, most seeking to have portions of states be separated out to form new states. At the same time, there are numerous state legislatures that have passed laws of varying degrees of credibility seeking to obstruct the Federal government in its exercise of power in the states. And, not a limit there... as the second amendment issues show this is not limited to some Sagebrush Rebellion or a western range war... unless you're considering the west to include Connecticut and western New York ? There is a schism within officialdom... with many of the law enforcement community refusing to enforce the law ? This is a vastly larger and more complex issue than is being addressed... by anyone... ?
