Or else every planet in the universe would be crawling with life ..... The universe probably has rare pockets of life, could even be as frequently occurring as similar goldilock's planets like ours abound. Hoyle could have been partially right with panspermia,it does have a certain natural prose to it.

The only point Karl Sagan was making always which has a certain poetry to it :

"If there wasn't other intelligent life out there, it would be an aweful waste of space"

* But the question still always remains, is there intelligent life on Earth down in Irving Texas?
