<<(no, I don't really like daytime tv, but I was sorting and folding ten loads of laundry, a task I find too boring to do without something else going on)>> So you couldn't tell me how Carie and Austin's relationship is going, what scheme Sammy has just hatched to break them up, what kind of trouble Vivian is getting into, if Bo and Hope will ever get back together, etc., etc. Believe it or not, we watch Days Of Our Lives at work while ON THE CLOCK! We sort of work between 1 & 2pm. Sorting and folding was never one of my favorite tasks either, but probably more so because it dries my hands out. Lets face it, not much work involved when it comes to washing in 1997. Its the part after the clothes have been washed that becomes the chore. Christmas shopping? Well, I'm about done. What really great ideas posted by a variety of people, too. I think I went over my limit on a few people and then of course there is the 'oh, I forgot to get a gift for so and so' last minute presents. My grandmother fit that catagory. Svejk posted a link to Amazon for an idea he offered, so while I was there, I ordered a book on cassette for my grandmother. I'm kind of like some, though, when it comes to the holiday season; I just can't get into it. S.J. gets all excited every year. Gets out the decorations, spruces up the house, plays christmas music, the whole nine yards. Then she looks over at me and asks every single year, "Why don't you like Christmas?". Does one always need a reason to not like something? (rhetorical). Just doesn't do anything for me anymore, but I will admit, I do like the giving part. Come to think of it the paid time off is rather nice also. Last Thurs. night, I was upstairs in the living room wathching the tube with S.J. when she looks over at me and says,"You don't have to stay up here. Why aren't you downstairs like you always are?" I told her it was because I wanted to be upstairs. Later we talked about general stuff and you know what, it was actually kind of nice. The thing is, when S.J. starts talking, she is kind of like the energizer bunny. She is going to be laid off for a couple of months so I gave her my password and so forth. Maybe she'll get interested in this and have an outlet to EXPRESS herself. I've been somewhat leary about her doing this kind of thing because some of the people can be shall we say RUDE!! So she says,"Bring em on!" We're different in that respect. Of course maybe if she can bounce some of her anger and frustration off someone else for awhile, I will get the benefits for a change. Although, I guess I better brush up on my cooking skills <gg>.
