You crack me up, Koan.

Many, many people in Europe only speak their native tongue. Of course, the percentage of Europeans who are multilingual are higher than that of Americans, but that percentage isn't as high as you think.

In any case, why don't you show me a 7-year-old kid who is fluent in five languages? Or even four?

Here's a hint: Learning about the word "agua" on Sesame Street does not make a kid fluent in Spanish.

What are you calling a "developed" mind? How do you define that? Are you talking about learning, or something different?
