"Prosecutie" is an impressive young lady, no doubt about it. Beautiful, but tougher than nails... :)

Just read this BBC article: bbc.com

Watching the videos, it becomes obvious how quickly the situation could deteriorate. All those little standoffs between the crowds and the soldiers seem measured and peaceful, but you can see that things may get out of hand at any moment. A few gunshots - and things may explode. This must be the most dangerous situation since the Cuban crisis, right in the middle of Europe, but someone neglected to send the memo.

Lately, I find myself following BBC more regularly. They offer fewer pronouncements and opinions, and more competent attempts at reporting what is actually happening. Also, many decent background articles.

Swapping freedom for security is a notorious hazard which seems to tempt people around the world from time to time.

I'd say, it's rather swapping freedom for an illusion of security. Go for it, and you'll have neither.
