<The minimum bending radius for steel pipe in casing diameter range makes the coils too large to fit on a truck.

So...we know that's where things stand now.

Question is:

How to reduce reel size? And where might such an innovative solution come from?

I'll put a thought on the discussion table. But would like to hear what angle of attack you and S&P would start from to mitigate the reel size issue.

First thing that occurred to me is a more sophisticated materials engineering solution which would change the metallurgical formula, perhaps significantly, from the current alloy mix used to mfg. production casing.

Obviously, whatever the source of the solution, the reward for whoever presents the most cost effective proposal will be large. We can't have the more friable shales surrounding these open hole horizontal legs caving in on multi-million MWD drilling assemblies, expensive down hole pumps or other premium quality production equipment.
